Dr. Ajay Kapadia:
Dr. Kapadia was raised in Oviedo, Florida and has lived there for almost 25 years. He attended Stenstrom and Partin elementary schools before becoming a Bobcat at Jackson Heights Middle School. After graduating Oviedo High School in 2000, Dr. Kapadia began his college career at the University of Florida. As an undergraduate at UF, he discovered his passion for dentistry while volunteering in the dental school at Shands Hospital.
Dr. Kapadia remained in Gainesville, FL to pursue his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at UF College of Dentistry. He enjoyed volunteering for mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Ecuador to treat the underserved populations there. He graduated Cum Laude in 2008 and was inducted into the prestigious national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. It was in dental school that Dr. Kapadia underwent his own orthodontic treatment and realized the tremendous impact that braces can have on a person’s confidence and personality. He knew that he wanted to change lives with orthodontics much of the same way a new smile had done for him.
After dental school, Dr. Kapadia was selected into the UF College of Dentistry Orthodontic Fellowship program. He spent one year here treating patients and working on a research project involved in TMJ pain. Dr. Kapadia then attended a 30 month orthodontic residency program at the University of Colorado in the Denver area. He received a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Masters of Dental Science degree to complete his formal training as an orthodontic specialist.
Dr. Kapadia is excited to return to his hometown of Oviedo to serve the community that has given him so much over the years. His desire to become an integral part of the community is shared by his wife, Jigna, who is a local pharmacist in Oviedo. In his free time, Dr. Kapadia loves to play basketball, travel, read, cook, and spend time with his family.
